The Benefits of Outdoor Footfall Counting
We first developed our systems to help our sister business identify what was happening with their assets. It had proven unreliable and untimely to wait for paperwork to come in from the field, and by fitting a communicator device and a set of sensors in each location, they were able to both improve the accuracy and the timeliness of information.
The National Lottery have also led the way in demanding accurate data upon which it makes decisions. Many parks over the last ten years have benefited from Lottery funding, and both before and after the money being spent, the Lottery uses the data we can generate from entrances to identify the benefits that have been derived.
It wasn’t long before our clients, 95% of which are Public Authorities, spotted that it was useful for them to know the data as well. When allocating resources to an asset, it was obvious that knowing how many people use it on a daily or weekly basis was essential to good decision making.
No longer will officers have to simply accept the word of a Local Councillor that their street is the busiest one in Town – always especially on Market days! They can now verify data in a quick and efficient manner.
There are many other benefits that are derived from gathering accurate timely data.
